Full Moon in Libra
On the Libra Full Moon, our awareness is being pulled to our relationships. The collective energy in the sky is softening us so that we can allow the most tender parts of ourselves to be revealed. Get ready for opportunities to have hard conversations and to take ownership in the reality you weave - diving into responsible vulnerability will bring profound transformation. The Jupiter-Chiron conjunction remains a focal point in our beings, and the healing is not over… and it should not be hastened. Every year, from our perspective, the Sun blesses each planet with its warm, illuminating vitality. This year, Chiron has its meeting with the Sun just hours before the Full Moon. This particular Chiron "cazimi" has an extra special potency as the Sun is clarifying and illuminating how to mend the deep wounds that the Jupiter-Chiron conjunction brought to the surface. This full moon will reflect the beauty in our wounds, so that we can reconcile with the hurt we feel and the harm that has been done - to find peace in the knowing that we cannot know the ecstatic highs without the terrifying depths. The most important message of all is - we are not meant to go it alone. We are human because we feel pain and pleasure and everything in between, above, below, and sideways. There is no shame in our sadness, in our grief. Don’t hide your tears or your anger (but please express responsibly 🙂). When we express our most vulnerable feelings, and they are met without judgment (from ourselves or others), we are able to transmute and heal in very profound ways much more quickly than we could on our own.
Venus rules this lunation, and she is in one of her home signs, Taurus. She is GORGEOUS in the sky right now, as she is getting fuller and brighter every night. Despite all of this deep wound work we are doing, we must permission ourselves to sprinkle pleasure throughout. We do not have to wallow in our miseries, we do not have to suffer for the sake of some perceived construct of “duty” or spiritual asceticism. We are allowed to experience joy, even when we are surrounded by adversity. It is the season for celebrating our humanness, and this beautiful earthly experience we are having. Take time to honor the land. Give thanks to the sky, the water, the mountains, the moist, exposed, cold earth, or the warm sand beneath your feet (wherever you are). And also - give thanks to your *B-O-D-Y* for its incredible power and potential for healing. You are a remarkable vessel of energy, waiting to create whatever the f*ck you desire - all you have to do is believe that you are worthy and capable. With power comes responsibility, so create wisely and intentionally. As we tend to our wounds, we are given the time and space to allow what wants to come forth to be revealed. We must give thanks even to that which debilitates us, because without these forced pauses we may have missed the magick awaiting underneath… Venus is sextile (a harmonious aspect) to Neptune in Pisces… Neptune is Higher Love, so we get an extra assist to channel in healing, connective, inspiring energy to help us work through snags in our relations - Neptune in Pisces may want to escape and only indulge in what feels good, so we must work to stay rooted to the earth and remain realistic in a way forward. Venus in Taurus wants to be comfortable, to luxuriate, and can be stubborn in her ways. Mercury in Taurus can reinforce this sentiment, holding the mind stubbornly to what keeps it feeling safe and secure.
Mercury is conjunct the North Node in Taurus, which creates an opening for fated conversations that may change the direction of our life, as a course correction or a gentle nudge in the direction of our soul path. Stay open, and recognize that sometimes a little discomfort could lead to a whole lot of pleasure. Saturn in Pisces and Mars in Cancer sit in sextiles on either side of Mercury. Mars just moved into Cancer last week, after seven months of warring with words in Gemini, shifting our target to matters of the heart. Mars in Cancer has us protecting our sense of our True selves, as well as our soul family. We passionately and fearlessly get to the heart of the matter, and with Mercury in Taurus in sextile, we are able to express our truth thoughtfully and from a rooted place. Saturn in Pisces on the other side has us letting our guard down more than normal, allowing us to be a little more permeable and fluid with our beliefs. We can let go of old dogmatic schisms, listen with an open heart, and consequently allow for deeper connections with people of all perspectives. We recognize and accept that our truth is not THE truth, it is A truth. This is really lovely, healing astrology, if you allow it. The fact that the nodes of the moon run down the center of this configuration (with the north node conjunct Mercury) gives it a fated feeling, and could mean big realizations, ah-ha moments, finally finding common ground, and a deepening of our relationships of all kinds. Mercury in Taurus allows us to slow down the mind-chatter, sort out the ego from the fear, and will be our anchor as our consciousness swims in our intuitive waters. Take some time to really tap into this energy by actively exercising and getting in touch with your intuition - do some stream of consciousness writing, pull some tarot cards, cook without a recipe, take a meandering walk with no destination - whatever expression or activity gets you into a flow state. Share what comes through with friends, family, perhaps even coworkers. Some of us may be experiencing a swelling urge to speak up about something, but we would rather stay quiet to keep the peace - we have so much healing to do collectively, and staying silent gives toxic dynamics staying power.
Mercury is also in a square to Pluto in Aquarius, as well as with Black Moon Lilith in Leo. We have this tug-of-war between Pluto and Black Moon Lilith, which are very similar archetypal energies - both are comfortable in the darkness, and transformative work is their specialty. We have these two formidable players, both capable of incredible transformation and also self-sabotage through egocentric tunnel vision. Pluto in Aquarius, in its higher expression, has the power to revolutionize our communities, locally and globally. Aspects to Black Moon Lilith can bring up themes around sovereignty in general, but women’s sovereignty over their bodies in particular, and women’s sexuality, so it’s possible we will see a surge in expressions of women’s rights and trans rights. This plays well with a Libra Full Moon with Chiron conjunct the sun in Aries - we are healing our sense of self, and Libra wants justice for all - we are in a Venus in Libra Star Point cycle (which began back in October 2022), which also emphasizes justice for women-identifying folks. Mercury in Taurus in this particular configuration is our invitation to pause and take a step back to consider thoughtfully how to proceed. Sometimes taking a moment is a stretch outside of our comfort zone - to pause when injustices provoke reactionary lashing out. What magick do we wish to wield with our words? Can we find the courage to say what is true even if it is not popular or easy? Can we make space for a mental pause… can we trust in Divine timing, and allow brilliant revelations to come in through the silence? Who are we gathering with under the Libra Full Moon and sharing ideas with that dare to build something that doesn’t fit in with the way we have been doing things? How can these transformative celestial bodies in fixed signs (Aquarius, Leo, Taurus) work together to clear the clutter and build something incredible?
These are crazy, uncertain times. Stay open, stay curious, stay kind.
