Full Moon in Libra

The Full Moon in Libra arrives at 6:22 pm MDT on April 12, 2025. Libra is ruled by the benefic goddess, Venus, and is the sign associated with love, connection, art, and beauty as well as justice. Art and connection are intertwined with and crucial to our liberation, and Libra calls for us to express ourselves wholly and demand the freedom to do so. For those of us whose privilege is becoming more and more augmented (white folks) while those who are and have always been marginalized (black, brown, trans, queer, femme, disabled folks) are becoming increasingly more vulnerable by the day, it is incredibly important to stand up against the injustices we face, for and beside those who experience greater risks for doing so.

We are in incredible times, and the energy right now isn’t easy, but there is the hope of new possibility in the air. We are being invited to acknowledge the most wounded parts of ourselves so that we can find the medicine to heal and transform. On the other side of our healing are more aligned, loving, connected relationships. From this place of resolute rootedness in self and community, we have the power to create anything we desire. As the old world crumbles around us, we have an incredible opportunity to build something better. The hope, the creative genius, and the discipline is accessible to us. Focus, be brave, and open your heart so that you can continue, or begin, to take small steps daily towards personal and collective liberation.

Veuns Ruled Moon opposite Chiron Cazimi

This Full Moon sits opposite to a Chiron cazimi - our core wounds around our sense of self are being illuminated. If we are brave enough to face them, be with them, we can transform and heal ourselves so we can show up in our relationships more confidently and securely, and with greater vulnerability and honesty.

Venus, the ruler of this lunation, stations direct shortly after the moon reaches peak fullness. She has been and will be sitting with Saturn  at this point in the sky,  which is causing us to feel disconnected and alone. We want connection more than anything, we want to feel seen and understood, we are craving pleasure and ease but it feels impossible to see through the chaos of seemingly constant bad news about the disintegration of our rights in what is supposed to be the land of the free. It’s easy to go into despair, to feel hopeless, but we have to lean into the gift of Saturn - through disciplined action, we can create the world we desire, and we can cultivate the love we wish to experience.

What habits and patterns are you clinging to that keeps you disconnected? Can you be honest with yourself about the ways in which you escape in order to avoid pain? Don’t you see that the means from which you avoid pain are the same things that are keeping you isolated? Feel fully. We have to experience pain to know pleasure. And in these extremely uncomfortable, heart breaking times, we MUST find joy. We can face and resist injustice AND sing and dance our hearts out in the same day, even in the same breath. Celebrate being a human. Celebrate being YOU.

Uranus is sitting in a sextile to Saturn, helping us to access creative solutions and release the old world order. It is frustrating to watch as those around us cling to the past, to the way things were when it is so very clear that things will never go back to the way they were - why would we want that? As we have Mercury and Venus making  forward motion, and Mars and Neptune moving into fire signs, we are going to feel more clear on the action we need to take, and we are going to have the motivation to make that shit happen. We may be feeling impatient, or that we’re running out of time, but Saturn reminds us that slow and steady wins the race. It’s never too late. Begin, and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Big change won’t happen overnight.

The Full Moon Aspects in a Nutshell…

Venus conjunct Saturn has us feeling disconnected and isolated, like we don’t belong and that the connection we seek doesn’t exist. The Sun conjunct Chiron is illuminating the wound and the lie we tell ourselves that we are not enough.  That there is not a place for us here, that we have to hide behind a mask of conformity in order to survive. Uranus sextile to Saturn is helping us channel the creativity and discipline to radically forge a new path forward, to create a life that is rooted in earth medicine, in living more in alignment with the natural order (Uranus in Taurus), a way of life that fruits compassion and unity (Saturn in Pisces), one that seeds and propagates the idea that despite all of our differences, we all belong, that we all deserve to feel safe, to feel love, to feel connection. And the Full Moon in the sign of Justice, Balance, Art, Beauty, and Femmes is shining a light on us, that we may bask in the joy of uniting together in the fight for an equitable future and liberation for all.

I want to emphasize here the importance of understanding and seeing who the real enemy is here. I have had so many interactions with people lately fighting with me about how our current President is better than who our other option was… and I just want to smash my head against a wall every time I have an interaction like this because we’re missing the point… yes, our government is corrupt, has been corrupt… and guess what, it’s getting way. more. corrupt. It’s not about who is president, it’s about the systems that our country is built on and the agenda they serve. We have to let go of these old systems. We have to let go of the idea that some other President is going to save us (or the idea that some poor delusional souls are still clinging to that THIS President is) and point ourselves in the direction of creating something else. We gotta re-do the whole damn thing. It’s time. And we can’t do that if we keep pointing fingers at people and talking about who we voted for and who won. It’s irrelevant. We’re here now, and we have to look at each other, acknowledge that we all really want the same thing (freedom, safety, food, clean water, connection, joy…), make amends, and stand up against corruption together. Not everyone is going to be on board, and that’s ok. Save your energy for the people who are ready.

On this Full Moon, allow yourself to heal and be healed through connection, to yourself and others. Healing is messy, it’s painful, but like most hard things, it’s so worth it. Sending you big love and blessings.
