New Moon in Capricorn

This New Moon is a… special one… it feels critical. It feels like a crossroads - we can either continue on an easy road, carrying on with life as usual, or we can take the path of uncertainty, guided by Spirit and our deep inner knowing, in the direction of our heart’s desire. Will you heed the call? The cosmos are aligned in such a way to support big up-leveling, and to offer an abundance of serendipities if we decide to put ourselves out there, again and again. The time is now to take the leap… trust passion…

What are you building? If you haven’t consciously set your year's intention for what you want to create, take the time on the New Moon to plant your *metaphorical* seed. Many of you may be already gaining momentum on your Spirit led journey… maybe you made it to the edge of a cliff, and don’t know where to go next… are you having second thoughts? Do you turn around and head back for safety? Do you stay and rest a while? Or do you jump…

We are at a time of reckoning with our current path and our dharma (1). This could mean grieving and letting go of a version of ourselves, of habits, of relationships, of a sense of place that we no longer resonate with, that we may not be able to carry forward with us. Have you given yourself space and grace? Our grief can coexist with our strength and determination. We do not have to push one aside for the sake of the other. We have to move through our processes of letting go so that we can move fly - it is not so cut and dry, so take care to be compassionate no matter what that looks like for you…

We are becoming more courageous in raising our voices to the injustices that exist in all of our systems. We won’t stand for our tax dollars being used to fund genocide and violent occupation. We won’t stand for the violation of our human rights and body sovereignty. We won’t stand for the pollution and mindless degradation of land and resources. Personally you may be contending with corrupted family, job, or community systems, or even an unbearable dissonance within your own being, energetically and/or physically. This is deep, karmic work, and although it feels daunting and overwhelming, it is necessary or written in the stars if you will…

How can we be more embodied as we navigate life? How can we listen to the “yeses” and “nos” that manifest in whatever way you receive your messages? Cultivate a deep relationship with yourself and your intuition not only for yourself but as an act of rebellion against the systems that work to oppress us. Have you been betraying your inner-knowing for the sake of so-called stability? What does the work that you're doing serve? Who is it serving? What systems do your daily actions bolster? Is this in alignment with your values?

Saturn as Lunar Ruler, Sextile to Jupiter and Mars within the Jupiter-Mars Earth Trine

The Full Moon in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, who is currently sitting in the early degrees of Pisces. We are considering what we want to build, and in that consideration, we have to acknowledge what we put our faith in, and how it is connected to what we are dedicated to building. When we consider our interconnectedness to all that is, and how our values revolve around this knowing, how do we want to wield our power? Our desires are 100% valid, but we have to consider how our vision impacts the world around us. Do our motivations come from lack, or do they come from love? Saturn is sitting smack dab between Mars in Capricorn and Jupiter in Taurus, sextiling them both (Mars and Jupiter form a trine). This is a very strong, supportive aspect, giving us the discipline, drive, and optimism we need to make sh*t happen. Although the energy at the beginning of the week was a bit foggy and murky (with the final square between Mercury and Neptune occurring on Monday) this energy supports clear, embodied, integrous motivations and actions. Now’s the time to ask for what you want and link arms with those that you are in co-creation with (business partners, leaders, Spirit, etc.).

Pluto at the Anaretic Degree of Capricorn

I have to acknowledge Pluto at the anaretic (2) degree of Capricorn - Pluto is leaving Capricorn (don’t worry, he’ll be back in September to f*ck around with our collective sense of authority and our political systems during election time), and while he drags through the last minutes of Capricorn, I imagine things are going to get stirred up. Since the great conjunction of 2020, when Saturn, Jupiter, and Pluto came together in the sky in Capricorn, sh*t changed, and despite what you believe about *why* or *how* it all happened, the truth of the matter is that it woke us TF up. 2020 was wild, and it’s only been continuously ramping up from there - now we just have to carry on business as usual while we battle injustice and corruption within our systems. Pluto is Tower energy (if you’re familiar with the Tarot) and we are still doing the work to tear down the structures that will not carry us through into our next phase as a humanity, into Pluto in Aquarius (no, we are not in the Age of Aquarius yet, but we are doing the work that will get “us” there - again, Capricorn work - our legacy that we leave behind, not necessarily the world we will get to experience). Pluto in Aquarius will certainly not be a cake walk - we are going to go through Deaths and Rebirths related to all things Aquarius - we may see beautiful shifts in the way we collaborate as a humanity, and we also will most certainly see abuses of power through technology… we are in WILD times, my friends. Which is why we should stop giving a f*ck what other people think already and just do the damn thing (whatever your damn thing is - emphasis on the damn thing that is connected to your Feminine Dharma and not capitalistic, self-serving ventures that will perpetuate toxic systems we are working to destroy).

Sidenote: Pluto will make a conjunction to the Sun at 29 degrees and 59 minutes of Capricorn next week (whew) ushering in Aquarius season with a mother flippin bang. As my sister (and mentor) would say, giddy up

On a lighter note - the work we do with Pluto in Aquarius (a 20 year journey) will serve to usher in an evolved way of living, working, and being in community on this planet that considers the betterment of all living things. Let’s make the aliens proud! 👽

New Moon squaring the Nodes, North Node conjunct Chiron

The New Moon is in an almost exact square to the nodes, making this moment a somewhat critical one. We are at a turning point, collectively speaking - although you may be feeling this on a personal level as well. The nodes point to our evolution - they create fated opportunities for growth and change, or we can choose to remain comfortable. I’ll get on my soap box in a moment, but for now, consider what was happening for you in your life around the time of the last eclipses (from mid October to mid November) - what came up for you, and what uncomfortable (perhaps exciting) opportunities were presented to you, and how have you responded in your life? What changes have you made since then, and what fell off that you may want to pick back up?

Chiron is sitting at a square to the New Moon as well, with the north node of the moon slowly approaching Chiron, possibly bringing up wounding you have around your sense of self, your right to be here and exist as your individual, unique self, and these feelings will only become more obvious over the coming months, especially during eclipse season this spring… best to acknowledge them now, utilizing tools you already have, or by seeking help from mentors to work through your core wounding so that you can courageously and confidently live as your most authentic self, because you deserve it. Break down and separate from all life-denying structures and relations in your life - the evolution of humanity depends on it.

Uranus in Taurus trine the New Moon

Uranus in a trine to this Capricorn New Moon *in my opinion* is reminding us or helping us to remember our Feminine Dharma (3) aka our creative offering (concrete or abstract, big or small makes no difference) to humanity that is in service to our collective evolution. Uranus awakens, it offers strokes of genius, opportunities for up-levevling. We are ramping up to the Jupiter and Uranus conjunction in April, and this Capricorn lunation is helping to give us the oomph we need to set the gears in motion to put our money where our mouth is, quite literally and figuratively. The way spend and earn money is in direct relationship with our values (Venus stuff)… what do the receipts say? It’s time to stand in our Creative Feminine nature, to act from a place of self-less service and connection to Earth and Spirit, so that we may inspire others to do the same.

Ok… I just have to get on my soapbox, but feel free to skip this part…

Life is f*cking scary right now, but we also live in an incredible moment in time. The occult mysteries are having a sort of Renaissance, witches are rising up, people are breaking away from religious indoctrination (I know ya’ll that are reading this are 100% on board, or I would have lost you LONG ago)... this isn’t to say that despite all the work we are doing, we STILL deny our inner voices. Of course we ignore and push away the whispers from the Universe - for centuries, intuitives have been vilified and pathologized, and the fear of persecution is in our DNA. We have been taught, through our public and higher education systems, our culture, and maybe our families, to work a 9 to 5 for Big Business for the sake of stability... The collective “We” has lost sight of living interdependently within a community, and are instead caught up in a never-ending game of competition for resource acquisition. Mental and physical health is at an all time low in the United States, with depression, anxiety, and insomnia becoming the norm, and we are seeing more and more cases of cancer, diabetes, chronic pain, auto-immune disorders, back pain… the list goes on and on… it is unnatural for our bodies to sit for 40 hours a week and dish out maximum productivity for someone that doesn’t give a sh*t about our well being. Many of us are making shifts away from these toxic systems, and many organizations are even making shifts to take better care of their employees (including higher wages, more flexible schedules and remote work) and also to be stewards to the land and resources that drive their bottom line. Each time we choose integrity and the unknown over convenience and corporate greed, we are giving these corrupt systems less and less power. When we choose to be connected with and in service to the land and our community over extracting profits, we are investing in the future for the next generations.

I can get off my soapbox now, but the point is, do not deny yourself of your Truth. Do not stay quiet to injustice, especially the injustice you commit to yourself. Of course it is a huge privilege to be able to walk away from stability. For many of us, it is not an option. And I’m not calling for radical change - that is not the Capricorn way. The energy of the Cosmos is calling for an awakening and an acknowledging that it is time for a pivot. Where are you turning your focus, and what are you ready to begin to build, one brick at a time… this year we are going to see some exciting, uncomfortable shifts. We have to be ready to go with the flow of change lest we be taken by the rushing river.

I see you - you are doing hard things. Keep going. Stay wild, stay weird, stay curious, stay kind… Sending ya’ll so much love on this very potent New Moon.

(1) Dharma is our duty, or our responsibility in this life, and is made manifest through the expression of our true nature. We can consider it in relation to spirituality, service, creativity… whatever feels true to you.

(2) The anaretic degree refers to the 29th degree (the final degree) of any sign in the zodiac. Divine Harmony refers to this as the Karmic Completion point, as it signifies a point where we are working to wrap up lessons related to the respective sign.

(3) Adam Gainsburg has done beautiful work around our Feminine Dharma and Venus phases. To learn more about these phases, I recommend his book “The Light of Venus.” Uranus is not related to our Feminine Dharma, but as he, the Great Awakener has been traversing through Taurus (ruled by Venus), and is approaching a conjunction with Jupiter in Taurus, a once in a lifetime transit, I believe that it is influencing our awareness around our purpose and place in these bodies on this planet. If you want to book a Venus reading with me to explore this concept,
