Full Moon in Cancer

This Full Moon may have us feeling extra tender and wanting to retreat inward, depending on how safe the people around us feel. It’s a great time to take inventory of the people in your life, of your home space, and counting your blessings, and also being true to yourself about what is not making you feel safe within yourself and your physical environment. It is time to hold close to us the people and the aspects of our environments that are supportive, nurturing, and allow us to come out of our shells, and to release those that leave us feeling frazzled and depleted. How can you adjust even your physical environment to feel more at ease? What daily practices can you devote yourself to to cultivate a safe place within yourself?

Saturn in Pisces trine Full Moon in Cancer

This full moon we have an opportunity to sit with our feelings and our emotions in a more objective way. We can detach ourselves from our beliefs, if even for a moment, to assess if these beliefs are in service to our highest and best, and in the highest and best of others. Sometimes we carry beliefs with us simply because someone or a group of people we trusted said it was so. Can you challenge your beliefs today, and consider that it might be in conflict with what you know to be true within you? Sometimes our beliefs are in dissonance with what we know to be right, and we go about life ignoring this feeling, sometimes stubbornly, other times completely unconsciously. When we explore our beliefs with curiosity, we may find that shifting out of this belief actually brings more ease into our being. This is an indicator that a belief is out of alignment with your True Self and it's time to shift it out and replace it with a new belief, so you can move more closely into alignment with who you truly are. This could be as simple as a belief that you aren’t capable of being or having [fill in the blank], and as big as believing that a certain type of person doesn’t deserve to live a life of ease. Who or what is the object of your hate and disgust, and why? Who have you adamantly been harboring anger towards? Why? Can you put yourself in their shoes and consider what they could be going through? What their motivations are deep down? We are all suffering and trying to make a better life for ourselves, in the ways we know how. Saturn in Pisces trine this Full Moon is offering a lens of compassion so that we can find connection even amongst people of radically different backgrounds and world-views.

Trigger Warning

With Mercury retrograde conjunct Mars in a square to Neptune, we run the risk of getting caught up in delusions and harming others with our words. Before you lash out at someone, make sure you heard correctly, using non-violent communication techniques (i.e. “What I heard you say is… and it made me feel… ). Try to take a pause when you get triggered, and put yourself in the other person’s shoes before you say something you may later regret. It’s likely you may be the object of someone else’s messy emotions. Stand your ground, speak your truth while keeping your cool (easier said than done, I know). With Venus in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces, doing the deep inner work is easier, but be wary of spiritual-bypassing and shallow “love and light” think that just perpetuates toxic ways of relating. Recognize fear when fear shows up, and choose to take a different path in your brain.

Jupiter in Taurus sextile Moon

With Jupiter in Taurus in a sextile to this Full Moon, it is a potent day for visioning a more supportive world for ourselves and others. We have to take action in order to realize our dreams. What steps can you take to live more in integrity with your values? If you want to live in a more equitable world, what can you devote yourself to, even in a small way, to be a part of the solution? As Jupiter continues to move closer to Uranus, closing out a 13 year cycle, we are continuously acknowledging the change we have to see in the world if we are to continue existing in it. We all deserve clean water, whole food to eat, a roof over our heads, fair wages for the work we do, health care. We need to go back to living in relation to the earth instead of perpetuating a paradigm that we are separate and in control of it. Those who continue to abuse their power, poison the earth, mismanage and hoard resources, exploit the masses, and weaponize fear need to be held accountable.

Full Moon Ritual

Despite the horrors that are going on in the world, give yourself permission to take exquisite care of yourself today. Take time to be alone and connect in with your Higher Self by connecting with the element of water in some way. Get into a flow of writing that is structure-less, move your body without judgment, draw yourself a bath. Take the time to be in gratitude for the people you call family, for the roof over your head, and dream up ways in which you can feel more at ease in your body and in your physical home space. Consider prioritizing your self-care so that you can be a stronger, more supportive force for the people that matter the most in your life.

Stay kind, stay curious, stay weird, my friends.
