New Moon in Virgo
The Moon aligns with the Sun in Virgo at the 21st degree, the same degree that Mercury, the ruling planet of this New Moon, stationed retrograde at three weeks ago. What has come up to be recalibrated in that timeframe? Where have you experienced snags, obstacles, upsets? Have you been able to shift your perspective when things seemingly don’t go your way, and consider they could be serendipities in disguise? Mercury currently stands still at 8 degrees of Virgo, where they will begin their forward motion the day after the new moon. Work with the magic of this moon to heal and integrate the lessons we have experienced this summer; release your burden of control, and trust in the natural order of Life. If Venus’ station direct at the beginning of the month didn’t give you the boost you need to start healthy routines, use the energy of this lunation and Mercury’s station direct tomorrow to recommit yourselves to old rituals or to begin new rituals. It doesn’t need to be fancy - the sacred exists in the mundane.
This New Moon in Virgo, trine to Uranus in Taurus, offers sudden insights that hasten our healing journey, helping us to untangle the knots we have been struggling with in our minds and our lives. This summer has had us focusing inward, parsing out what has integrity and what is out of alignment, so we can build the bridge between who we currently are and who we are destined to become. Uranus in harmonious aspect to Sun and Moon shakes us out of our stillness into inspired action. This lunation marks the time for the harvest - we can now reap the wisdom, discernment, and clarity to move forward confidently, to cross the bridge, taking only that which nourishes us and leaving behind what does not. There is no rush, everything is happening in perfect timing, and time and energy is never wasted. What is rotten can be composted and will only serve to make us more fertile for what we are intrinsically to be growing and nurturing. Remain slow, conscious, intentional in all your actions and exchanges - Neptune opposite this moon opens us up to Divine creativity, but be aware as it also can make us vulnerable to illusion, martyrdom, and escapism.
Saturn continues its retrograde journey through Pisces, and sits in a loose opposition to Mercury retrograde, with the themes of the previous Full Moon imprint lingering in the sky… On this New Moon, consider the ways in which you are guided in both the mundane aspects of your life and in your spiritual practices. Do you operate from a place of should or from inner knowing? Let go of any beliefs around having to live according to dissonant societal norms, or ritualize your spiritual practices in a rigid, dogmatic way. Trust yourself and the whispers from your higher mind that guide you on your path, to the God within. Trust that what you are available to give and receive is perfect in every moment. Trust in the timing of things, let go of arbitrary deadlines and milestones. Continue to be diligent in the work that you do, and be kind to yourself along the way. Look at how far you’ve come, and gaze forward in curiosity and excitement for what awaits on the horizon.
We are still working through some deep karmic lessons, both individually and collectively. Have the courage to say what needs to be said, to cut the chords that must be cut, to step into the person that you know you must be. We are still in the process of breaking down old structures and paradigms, and toxic ways of relating, so that we can move towards wholeness and sovereignty, on both a personal and collective level.
Jupiter is currently visible in the night sky, and on this New Moon, he is opposite the midpoint between the New Moon and Mercury… take some time on the night of the New Moon to give him your attention, to be blessed with the faith, optimism, and expansion that Jupiter offers as we integrate and alchemize the lessons that are ready to be culminated.
Venus is moving into a trine with Chiron, exact on September 22nd. Are you feeling any insecurities about expressing the full spectrum of your beautiful being? Be brave when self-doubt shows up. Courage is a heart word, as Brene Brown eloquently put it - it comes from the Latin word for heart… and being courageous is not about not being afraid, it’s about letting your heart lead the way even though you are afraid.
Be well, friends. And take time to be in stillness. You can’t think your way through every challenge. Sometimes you have to quiet your mind and listen, so the answer can come in.
Sending ya’ll lots of love.
