Full Moon in Sagittarius

This Full Moon in Sagittarius, inspiration is waiting for us. With the previous astrology dominating the sign of Taurus, we’ve been spending our energies lately on evaluating what we value, what we want more of in our life, and what no longer fits. It may have felt frustrating, as we felt like we knew what we wanted more of, but we have been stuck in waiting and planning and wishing… change in earthy, rooted Taurus is not easy. Disrupting our roots is always challenging, but transplanting ourselves into richer, more fertile soil will allow us to flourish in the long run.

Jupiter as ruler, conjunct Venus at the final degree of Taurus

Jupiter rules Sagittarius, so the flavor of any lunation in Sagittarius is expansion. It’s a time to open your mind, to seek inspiration from schools of thought that provoke you to be the best version of yourself. It’s a time to reconnect with your spiritual practices and check in with your higher mind. This full moon is not only ruled by Jupiter, but it sits in opposition to the Great Benefic. Jupiter and Sun sit on either side of the cusp of Gemini (Jupiter at 29 degrees of Taurus and Sun at 2 degrees Gemini) -  Venus happens to be conjunct Jupiter, at the moment of the Full Moon, which is the most lovely, supportive energy we could possibly hope for. The Sun is warming us up, calling us out of our cocoons, while Venus and Jupiter sit at the anaretic degree of Taurus, bringing us to a point of completion in this phase of nourishing our visions. The Sun is imbued with the optimism and ease that Venus and Jupiter offer, and the Sun is shining that light on the face of the Moon, bringing some ease to our mind and our emotions in what has been a long, challenging time.

As Jupiter and Venus move into Gemini, the world (and you!) seems to open up. We feel a renewed sense of curiosity and openness, of wonder and awe, and we are able to call in the collaborations, inspiration, and solutions to start making shit happen. Inspiration requires your participation… you cannot simply just receive, you have to take intentional action to allow the inspiration to come through. It needs a channel. Be brave, pick up your pen and start writing. Do not wait for the inspiration to come, invite it in. With Neptune in a perfect sextile to the benefics at the anaretic degree of Pisces, we are able to open ourselves in a big way to the visions that want to come in.

Transformation and Healing with Pluto

Pluto is sitting in a sextile to the full moon, as the God of the Underworld trines Sun. Full moons can feel tense, as they are the moment when the Sun and Moon are in opposition, a sort of tug of war between our mind and emotions and our ego. Full Moons are always a time of culmination and release, and with Pluto in aspect to this lunation, we’re getting some assistance, a bit of support to our systems to help us really let go of the old stuck energy, behaviors, relationships, circumstances that have been making us feel stuck in the mud, so that we can shift more into alignment with our truth, which is the aim of Sagittarius’ arrow. Pluto is like the root medicine we take to support our detoxification systems. Trining the Sun in air signs, you’ll likely find the medicine in having transformative, healing conversations.
